Class format and activity

In this course the tutor will give short talks, film examples and reading material which will be debated in class. You will explore different techniques and approaches of reviewing world cinema and will be provided with a mac computer for you to be able to do any research required during in class. The tutor will give guidance and support as you learn and develop your knowledge.

The tutor will facilitate group discussions, and work with students one to one and in small groups. Your class size will be between 4-6 people, allowing for each student to get a high standard of guidance and support.

Learning will be supported with reading materials, handouts and links to online resources.

In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.

About Your Tutor

Jessica Birch is a filmmaker and film school graduate based in London. Jessica’s short films have been accredited at Festival De Cannes, screened at festivals and events including Cannes Short Film Corner, BFI Future Film Festival and broadcast on London Live.
